Barbara is the founder of OnYourFeet.ie, a presentations training company based in Dublin with clients across Ireland and the UK. Barbara has a natural talent for helping people to stand up and speak with confidence and influence, while still remaining true to their own personality and presenting style.
As a presentations coach she works with a vast variety of people - young and old, senior executives to new hires and students, educated to uneducated. She has found that regardless of age, title, experience or education, many people consider themselves to be lacking intelligence – when in actual fact they have a particular type of intelligence that is not always recognised. This is the topic she explores in her talk.
Despite having no third level qualifications and leaving school with very average results, she has developed her own innate intelligence and is a mentor and coach to companies and clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 executives.

As a Tallaght native who has spent most of his life living in the area, Gary has always been an admirer of the outstanding natural beauty that his locality has to offer. Ever since he was a young boy scout, Gary has always relished being outdoors. It is this early enjoyment and appreciation of the outdoors that has led to a shift in career, from a stable job as an engineer for a multi-national company, to a less stable, but ultimately more enriching career as an environmental educator.
Having achieved First Class Honours in Energy & Environmental Engineering and a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy, he now lectures in IT Tallaght, teaches outdoor education with Sonairte and Coillte's 'Compass Club', voluntarily gives talks about climate change as one of Al Gore's 'Climate Reality Leaders', is a Dublin Mountain Ranger, takes part in local clean ups and is an activist with Friends of the Earth.
Gary passionately believes that experiential learning is crucial to enable connections to be made between people by reflecting and sharing, while also empowering them to love, appreciate and protect their environment, which ultimately leads to happier, healthier citizens living in truly sustainable communities.

Tara began her entrepreneurial journey at 19, after quitting her fine art education, recognising the fact it could prove quite difficult to make money from her painting skill. She opted for a start your own business course and opened a restaurant instead.
Fast forward 20 years and Tara’s journey has evolved from that decisive moment of putting down her paint brush. Choosing an interesting path of working with start-ups, opening two businesses and travelling the world something never left her mind:
Why is it so difficult for Creative people to make money from their craft?
Tara sold her last business in 2012 and moved to Dublin where she began to help small businesses with their social media platforms. Over a two-year period, Tara decided to launch a niche Brand to the creative space, aligning her age-old passion for the Creative sector.
The brand BISCUIT was born in Jan 2015 and since then has helped over 15 creative entrepreneurs through 1:1 Coaching. Knowing the market well Tara saw the need to build a Community around Biscuit and so Bite The Biscuit was baked. This online Community of over 1500 creative people sits proudly on Facebook. It is a growing Community who engage and support each other on a daily basis.
Bite The Biscuit connects Creative people both online and offline, facilitating meet-ups around Ireland, to build relationships within the Creative Community. But there is a bigger quest for Tara and her Biscuits. There is a vision to bring the Creative Entrepreneur to a new level. Through support, guidance, and education she has devoted her passion and energy into developing an online platform for Creative people who are serious about building brands and creating the life they really want.
This online platform, which is currently in BETA is known as The Biscuit Factory. It is currently working with Creative business owners to eliminate the frustration, overwhelm and isolation from running a Creative business. Tara is passionate about enabling the future for Creatives in business and is excited to share this vision with TEDxTallaght.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBallyroanLibrary, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBallyroanLibrary event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
